Rithika Manna

Hi, I’m Rithika Manna — a designer, artist, and researcher exploring the emotional and environmental impact of the things we make and keep.
Rooted in India and based in Toronto, my practice blends sustainability, memory, and design. I create modular furniture systems, installations, and material experiments that rethink waste, honour ancestral traditions, and foster care through use.
Drawing from my background in landscape architecture and my Master’s research in sustainable design, I focus on the emotional durability of objects — asking: What makes something worth keeping? Whether it’s a desk passed down through generations or a stool made of scrap cardboard, I believe in the quiet power of repair, reuse, and reflection.
My work sits at the intersection of design, craft, and climate action, and is deeply influenced by my cultural heritage, community, and lived experience as an international student.
