About Me
I am Rithika based in Toronto and rooted in India, I explore how design can nurture a more thoughtful relationship between people and the environments we inhabit. My practice spans balconies, modular furniture, public installations, and hands-on experiments that rethink waste, honor ancestral knowledge, and invite repair through use.
I studied Architecture in India and completed a Master of Design at OCAD University in Toronto. With a background that bridges architecture, landscape, and sustainability, I see design as a way to connect ecological care with human experience. My research asks a simple question: what makes something worth keeping? I’m drawn to the quiet power of repair, reuse, and reflection—whether it’s a stool made from scrap cardboard or a desk passed down through generations.
Before moving to Toronto, I founded Green Thumb Delhi, a small sustainable landscape practice designing balcony and rooftop gardens that brought biodiversity into dense urban areas. Working alongside architects and horticulturists taught me the value of care, adaptability, and collaboration in eco-conscious design.
Today, I continue to explore circular and regenerative practices through furniture prototyping, landscape design, and community workshops that transform everyday materials into creative lessons on sustainability. I’m currently based in Toronto, seeking opportunities to collaborate on projects that align with my values of sustainability, community, and innovation.
